Films is a full service production company specializing in Large
Format film production, innovative digital film design, multimedia
communication tools and exhibits. For over 30 years, Director
David Douglas has been involved in numerous giant screen productions
for IMAX Theaters, Science Centers and Museums around the world.
Over the past
fifteen years, David Douglas and producer Diane Roberts have
collaborated on a wide variety of internationally acclaimed projects.
The company is committed to excellence in Large Format images
and displays, and so we design and build equipment specifically
tuned to the needs of each project.
Working with
IMAX Corporation, we produced and directed the Academy Award
nominated "Fires of Kuwait". Since then we have
completed "Rolling Stones: At the Max"; the
renowned wildlife documentary, "Survival Island"
(with Sir David Attenborough), "The Secret of Life
on Earth", "Wolves" for the National Wildlife
Federation, and "All Access" with Ideal Entertainment.
Our latest
release is a new feature documentary for the National Air and
Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution. "Straight
Up-Helicopters in Action"
In 2005 we
producer Orbital Map, a new educational exhibit for the Royal
British Columbia Museum, combining extreme detail from orbiting
satellite data, geo-corrected elevation data, digital animation
and live action HD video, that is project onto a 3D map model
the stretches 22 feet to the ceiling. We are currently working
on three new chapters for the map.
Other
assignments of the past ten years include acting as Director
of Photography or Large Format Film Consultant on "Space
Station 3D", "Mission to Mir", "Shackeltons
Antarctic Adventure", "Mexico", "Alaska",
"Migrations" and "Yellowstone".
