FIRES OF KUWAIT takes the viewer in to the very center of blazing, out-of-control oil well fires. The film highlights the massive international firefighting effort launched after more than 600 oil wells were sabotaged by retreating Iraqi troops in the aftermath of the Gulf War. Nominated in 1993 for an Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary, FIRES OF KUWAIT is a tribute to the firefighters' heroism and ingenuity, and a celebration of their ultimate victory.
